What is a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer?
A trained professional certified through a nationally recognized certifying body, Canadian Fitness Professionals Inc. (canfitpro), who has the skills to help individuals and small groups create positive changes, see new possibilities, and help their clients define the steps to be taken to achieve longevity in Fitness and Health.
What is Personal Training?
Personal Training is the magic that happens when, you as a client, are given the opportunity to reveal your short and long-term Fitness and Health goals and then have me, as your Personal Trainer, there to encourage you and strategize with you on how to achieve them. Personal Training is based on accountability which is the foundation that creates results and you one step closer to achieving your goals!
Personal Training is like having your own Personal Fitness Coach; it is an ongoing series of relationship development between the Trainer and the client. The opportunity for success for the client dramatically increases because changing lifestyle habits and creating new possibilities for goal achievement is an ongoing process. It is a structure that facilitates the process of personal and professional development. The Client and Trainer agree that the coaching relationship will be designed together.
By entering this relationship, the Trainer and Client acknowledge that the Client wants to make significant progress and change in his/her lifestyle. Because progress and change happen at rates that are unique to each individual, the Trainer and client commit to working with each other for an initial three‐month period. This allows the training relationship necessary time to develop and progress through objectives, obstacles and successes that occur.
Personal Training is for individuals of all walks of life; those whom want to lose weight and make healthy choices for daily life, individuals who are looking to gain lean muscle and decrease body fat, and those who want to maintain their fitness and health, decrease and relieve stress and improve their health profile.
Personal training is for individuals who are classified as an apparently healthy individual and cleared for exercise using a yearly updated Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) and who are emotionally and psychologically healthy. Personal Fitness Training is not psychological advice, therapy or psychological counseling.
The success of any training relationship is always determined by both the perspective given by the trainer and the follow through by the client. This process is known as accountability. Scheduled appointments will be agreed upon, action steps will be agreed upon, and accountability to both the process and the agreements made during each training session will determine the success of the training process. The services to be provided are either virtual training or in personal training (*subject to additional fees), as designed jointly with the client.
As Personal Fitness Trainers, we assume that if you can envision your goals, you have the potential to make them happen, but in the past, have not figured out the strategy to get there in which we will guide you.
My job is to both help you reveal your goals but be the one person who will keep you accountable on working towards them.
As your Personal Fitness Trainer, I will be:
Your champion: I will be there working with you to achieve your fitness and health goals.
Your cheerleader: I will cheer you on as you take the steps towards your fitness and health goals.
Your enforcer: I will keep you accountable to accomplishing the steps you need to take towards your fitness and health goals.
I customize my approach to design specific strategies for you to achieve your goals and results. Our time together will be based on a continuous process of assessment, goal setting, action steps and back to assessment.
What Personal Fitness Training is NOT…
Training is NOT counselling, psychology, or psychiatry. The difference between those disciplines and training is that training focuses on your fitness and health goals through exercise and nutrition and taking the appropriate action steps to get there. Those other disciplines are appropriate choices if you are working on trauma incurred as a child, or a condition that requires medication.
I am dedicated to supporting you in acknowledging and then setting aside the emotions that may be holding you back, recognize obstacles, and create a strategy that will allow you to thrive and drive the results you are looking to achieve.
Why did I choose to be a Personal Fitness Trainer?
I have always been interested in fitness, health and exercise even as a young child. 20 years ago, I discovered my “WHY” and decided to fulfill my dream of helping others achieve success in fitness and health. As a professional optimist, I am passionate about helping people discover their full potential and turn it into reality! Together with over two decades of helping and supporting people live their life to the fullest, Personal Fitness Training and Coaching is truly a calling for me, and I absolutely love what I do!
I love the experience of developing a relationship with someone, helping them uncover their deepest and most ambitious goals and dreams. I thrive on being in the front seat with them as their goals and dreams turn into achievements, accomplishments and results!
As a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, I don’t do the work for you, yet I help you identify what your goals are, open your eyes to the potential obstacles and road blocks that are in your way, and then support you as you move them aside, so you can easily thrive to achieve your desired results.
TYPES OF PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINING
One on One / Individual Personal Fitness Training
With complete dedication to you as an individual, we will work together to:
- Identify what you want and need: You might be surprised that whatever your goal is, it is often covering another, deeper goal that you may not even know exists. Let us discover it together.
- Assess your fitness level: determine where you are at and create action steps to achieve your goals.
- Develop your personalized fitness plan: Your plan will fit your life, your schedule, and take into consideration all the other priorities that you have including family, work, and other pursuits.
- Massively increase your confidence through personal fitness training sessions: The process I use will eliminate the fear that has been holding you back and replace it with the confidence you need to achieve your goals easily.
Re-assessment and ongoing feedback: At the end of each session we will discuss any feedback you may have, how the workout felt and what our next action steps will be.
Small Group Personal Fitness Training (Up to 3 Clients)
Group Personal Fitness Training is a powerful and more affordable option for many training clients such as:
- Groups of clients that share the same common goal.
- Groups of clients that share complimentary fitness and health goals.
- Groups of clients from the same company, sports team or family.
Groups of clients that are friends and have common interests.
PAYMENT POLICY
All prices are listed in Canadian Currency (CAD). Prices are subject to 13% Ontario Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). All coaching packages require a down-payment of 50% of the total package, and subsequent payments will be paid prior to the 1st day of every month until the remaining balance is paid in full.
Face to face / onsite personal training sessions are subject to a $0.52/km additional gas mileage charge.
Payments can be made by Email Money Transfer, Cash, Cheque or Credit Card (when available).
PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION PROCEDURES
All Personal Training sessions are conducted by virtually unless otherwise arranged with the Trainer.
Session appointments will be scheduled in advance at the time agreed upon by both the Trainer and the Client.
At the scheduled appointment time, the Trainer agrees to meet the Client at an agreed upon platform (Zoom, Facetime, etc) . The Tainer and Client commit to start and finish each session on time. If the client is more than 10 minutes late to join a training session, the Trainer will assume the session is cancelled and the client will forfeit the session fee.
Rescheduling a coaching session is easily done with appropriate notice. Please allow for at least 24 hours’ notice to appointment changes.
In between training sessions, the client may feel free to e-mail or text the Trainer. Texts made between the scheduled training session are permissible and based on availability; the parties agree to keep the conversations to 5 minutes or less.
Additional time can be made available between our regular sessions to speak . All unscheduled texts or phone calls of a coaching nature will be chargeable based a minimum charge of a 30-minute training session. For example, any unscheduled text exchange or phone conversation will incur a minimum charge of $35.00 + HST.
CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY
The training relationship is built on trust and I acknowledge and agree to keep all conversation and
Personal and business information with clients private and confidential. No personal ideas, information or thoughts expressed will be shared with anyone except with written consent of the client.
TERMINATION, REFUND & GUARANTEE POLICY
If after you have received your first training session you do not feel 100% happy with my training style, I will gladly refund your money less a 50% booking fee. This is a one-time only option which you may exercise at the end of the first session.
In addition, you agree that the Trainer has the right to terminate our agreement at any time refunding the Client for all unused pre-paid sessions that remain. Please note that no refunds will be given should the client decide to terminate our agreement for whatever reason.
Because Trainer is a relationship-based service, and not a material product: there are no guarantees offered in this agreement.
REFERRALS
Referrals are the best compliment Trainer can receive! If you know someone who could benefit from my coaching, I would ask that you simply refer him or her to my website at: www.clubreabel.com where they can contact me directly and request a complimentary consultation. Please have them mention your name. For a referral who becomes a client and registers for my Personal Training Program. I will credit you with 1 free 60-minute Personal Fitness Training or Life Coaching session!
